Final Thoughts
This is actually the first OLED monitor that I’ve had the chance to really sit down and spend some time with. These always look amazing when we see them at trade shows, but having this for an extended period of time really reiterated that.
Since this is an OLED you have this really thin and sleek design, which is going to look amazing on your desk. I would have liked to have seen a better stand, these wing stands just take up too much desk real estate in my opinion. Of course you have VESA mount compatibility so it really is not an issue. It was a bit weird that you could not route the power cable from the monitor through the cable channel provided in the stand.
The big thing with getting an OLED is going to be image quality and you definitely have that here. The colors and going to be rich and vibrant and you are going to have one of the best viewing experiences you’ve ever had on a monitor before. On top of that this display is going to give you 1440p gaming at up to 360 Hz. I really think that is a sweet spot for high frame rate gaming as many people might not have the hardware to push a 4K display. This fast refresh rate is going to be excellent for FPS and other fast-paced style games. And yes you will notice a different even moving from 144 Hz to 360 Hz.
When it comes to connections you do have two HDMI 2.1, a single DisplayPort 1.4, and USB-C that does support alternate mode. DisplayPort 1.4 is going to be great for your PC and the HDMI connections can be used for consoles like the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 to game at 120 FPS. Having the USB-C port with alternate mode means you can easily connect a laptop up to display and this is a powered USB port so you can also use it to charge your devices. On top of that there is a built-in KVM here giving you two USB-A ports as well.
The biggest drawback for gamers when it comes to buying an OLED has been burn-in. I think on this generation of OLED panels most companies have it figured out and Gigabyte is definitely one of them. For starters this monitor is going to come with a 3-year warranty that covers burn in. On top of that you have their OLED Care suite that has things like pixel shifting, sub-logo dim, corner dim, pixel clean and much more that will keep burn in from happening.
