Yeyian Phoenix Gaming PC Review

Setup & Initial Usage

When you power the Phoenix Gaming PC on for the first time it will go into the Windows 11 setup. This is a completely clean install so you will have to go ahead and install all of the drivers etc for the system. Since the motherboard is MSI we are prompted to download MSI Center, which makes that process much easier. It is nice that we do not have any type of bloatware on this system.

Opening up CPU-Z we can confirm all of the hardware in our system.

Using the system for a first few hours downloading and installing games I did notice the fans were quite loud, almost as if they were running at 100%. This of course is quite annoying, especially if you do not have a headset on. I narrowed it down to the front intake fans. It seems these fans were set to DC mode in the BIOS for some reason.

A quick switch to PWM mode solved this problem, but going into the BIOS or even knowing the fan controls are in there might be a bit daunting for a beginner.
