A recent leak has revealed details about ASUS’s upcoming Ally X gaming handheld. Set to launch next week, this device boasts enhanced memory and battery, marking significant upgrades from its predecessor.
The marketing materials released by LipLeg refer to the device as the ROG Ally 2 instead of the ROG Ally X. Despite this naming discrepancy, the specifications and features align with those of the ROG Ally X. The new console is depicted in several renders, albeit in somewhat low resolution.
The device still features the Ryzen Z1 Extreme APU and a 7-inch 120 Hz display but now boasts a substantial memory upgrade to 24GB of LPDDR5X, confirmed at 7500 MT/s.
The leak reports a weight of 670g, slightly lighter than the previously reported 678g—a minor difference. Although the 80Wh battery capacity isn’t confirmed in the new materials, they do confirm the inclusion of a 1TB M.2 2280 SSD by default.
ASUS has announced that the ROG Ally X will be unveiled on June 2nd at 1:30 PM PST. This presentation will detail the complete specifications and features of the device. A key piece of information still awaited is the pricing, which many hope will be disclosed during the event.
