Lian Li SUP-01 Case Review

Installing Hardware In the Lian Li SUP-01 Case

Installation in this case is pretty straight-forward, but it will be a bit different based on the design of the case. The first thing we will be installing in the case is going to be our motherboard. It goes in no problem. Once you have your motherboard installed go ahead and plug in the included PCIe 4.0 riser card.

After our motherboard our graphics card is next. You install it in the front of the case and this is quite easy as there is a bracket there. You are going to want to install your card in the front slots for the best cooling performance. Also be sure to use the GPU brace bracket on the top of the case to really secure your card. Be sure to connect the PCIe riser cable to your card.

For our hard drive we will be installing a 2.5-inch SSD in the removable tray. We simply remove the tray, screw in our drive, and then reinstall the tray.

The install your power supply you’ll remove the power supply mounting bracket from the back of the case and attach it to your power supply. Then carefully slide your power supply into the case from the back. Be sure that your fan is facing the bottom of the case.

Now you are going to want to do some cable routing and connect all of your cables before we get to the next part. All of the velcro straps do a good job and holding our cables in place.

We will be using a 360mm all-in-one liquid CPU cooler on our build and Lian Li was nice enough to send over their GA II Trinity 360. First we remove the cooling bracket from the system and mount our radiator on it. Once you’ve done this you are going to want to remove the small top section of the case so you can route the pump block and tubing between the two sides of the case.

Finally I reinstalled the fan bracket that had the three pre-installed fans. Before you close up the back of the system you are going to want to make sure you connect your display cable to your graphics card. You route it through the bottom of the case and out the back via the opening with the rubber grommet.
